THANK YOU

I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who helped try to save the powerhouse from demolition. It is a shame that yet another building with so much potential has been sent to the landfill.

The Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Powerhouse was built between 1905 and 1937 to power New York City's elevated trains and subway system. It was also the site of a landmark transit strike in 1937, which led to the creation of the Transit Workers Union.
